About the Mart

The Denver Merchandise Mart opened in 1965 to provide retailers a centralized buying center. Over the years, additions to the Mart included the Expo Building, the Mart Pavilion, the Forum Meeting Rooms and the Plaza Event Center which are used during tradeshows connected to the Mart showrooms and for private, outside trade shows, public or consumer shows, special events and banquets.

The hub of wholesale sales for the Rocky Mountain Region, the Denver Merchandise Mart provides retailers with approximately 450 permanent showrooms of merchandise.

A number of trade shows (restricted to qualified retail buyers only) provide additional business for permanent showrooms such as:
The Denver Merchandise Mart Gift, Jewelry & Resort Show—a major national show produced two times a year by the Mart
The Denver Apparel & Accessory Market (co-sponsored by the Mart and the Denver Market Association)—held five times a year featuring women's, children's and men's apparel and accessories
Design Open Houses/TrendDays—and other special events conducted for interior designers and other industry professionals
The Denver International Western/English Apparel & Equipment Market—produced twice a year by the Western & English Sales Association
The W.W.S.R.A. Ski Show and the Outdoor Sports Show—both produced by the Western Winter Sports Representatives Association
